Production of threshing machines and combine harvesters represented a large part of the company's longest epoch. J T Munktell designed the first threshing machine in 1847. His Master Mechanic Johan Thermaenius left the company and moved to Torshälla, close to Eskilstuna, where he built Sweden's first threshing machine in 1847. Munktells Mekaniska Verkstads AB built their first threshing machine in 1860. In 1940, Europe's first towed combined harvester was made, while the first self-propelling combine harvester was made in 1950. Production ended in 1982.
